Open Studio Tours with HAMPDEN KICKOFF!

Every year, Baltimore Open Studio Tour arrives and reminds me that I don't have a studio to open to the public. I'm so glad that BOPA does this event every year to make our city more aware of the fantastic art making happening in the area... but I can't help my annual feeling of gloom when I hear the call for artists. Although I'd like to show off both the Red Prairie Press studio AND My paintings in progress, I work from our row house - which for my own sanity and privacy, I prefer to keep non-public.

Enter the Open Studio Tour KICKOFF PARTY in Hampden this year to solve all my exclusion woes! The neighborhood of Hampden has decided to hold a first-friday style event THIS FRIDAY, October 19th - in which all the businesses are open a bit late, bands will play, vendors will set up outside to sell crafts & artwork, and you can wander the Avenue (36th Street) collecting stamps on a fun map of businesses and get a chance to win a few prizes! I have a few paintings up at Trohv Home & Gift (921 W. 36th St.) for the occasion, including this big old map of the country! OPEN STUDIO TOUR KICKOFF 36th Street - Hampden 5pm- 10pm October 19th.
