First Fridays + Art

I'm packing the rest of a big box of paintings to deliver to the newly named Trohv tomorrow - The store formerly known as Red Tree on 36th street in Hampden has changed its name to match the one of its new sister store - Trohv of DC. I'm helping them celebrate their chain status with a wall of small paintings and hand painted key hangers like the ones above being featured for first fridays in Hampden.
All your favorite shops on "The Avenue" will be open late on Friday, and many of them offer up free specialty cocktails and snacks along with one-night sales.

I love how festive Hampden feels on First Fridays and will be sorry to miss it - but alas, I'll be in Panama, doing some celebrating of my own! Red Prairie Press turns 5 years old while I'm there, and what better way to ring in a milestone than to go to Carnivale in Central America? I anticipate sunshine, floats, costumes, and me fleeing from the crowds pretty quickly...

Won't you do the local celebrating for me, by showing up to First Fridays in Hampden?
