Continuing to Labor
It's Labor day, and laboring we are! It's 7:16pm, and I'm hard at work on the 2009 Calendar...
I suppose you could say that the workers of Red Prairie Press are unionized... if only that we have such a close relationship with our boss that it sometimes feels like we're the same person (GUFFAW!). Sadly we've managed to work all weekend, including today, but don't feel too bad, because today, bonnie and curt had a tasty bbq and yesterday Jenny and I scored free tickets to the MD state fair so I snuck out of the office for a few hours to enjoy both.
The fair is a glorious thing. Despite not having any desire to ride the rides (okay, except the swings, but we were too poor to ride them) I still love the fair. I love saying hello to the livestock (pretending not to notice the labels "beef" and "poultry" above the cows and chickens) eating fried food, people watching, looking at the 4-H booths, and sunbathing in the glory of blinking lights and loud noises. Sorry if you missed it... i think today was the last day (?) but there's always next summer, right?
Here are some photos from my day inside the gates with Jen. The free passes meant more spending dough for extra french fries and lemonade. We couldn't get enough of all the animal loving, the bright colors of the rides (which we managed not to ride) and the tasty grease of the fried goodness. You can look at the rest of my photos (including one of some jazzercise-ready sheep, which i'm not sure how didn't make the cut on here...) HERE.
Also- don't forget to leave a comment with your favorite cartoon under THIS blogpost! Contest ends wednesday night!!
