Good Grief. Have you heard of The Small Object? Sarah Neuburger sells her tiny artwork and stamps and little crafted things at www.thesmallobject.com and I've admired the little demented biddies she sells at fairs for quite a while now. It's about time someone made the rubber stamp a worthwhile material again...In fact, she made it into a necklace (see above) Her designs are cute without being nauseating. She even has a set of nesting doll stamps. A++.
The Small Object will be at Crafty Bastards this weekend with Red Prairie Press and a whole heap of other exciting booths. Checkit.
Best Of Baltimore, that is! Charm City Craft Mafia is a proud 2007 recipient! SEE HERE! Ahem, while you grin and clap and await a formal acceptance speech from a spokesperson from the mafia family... you might consider the better things to do with yourself this week:
WEDNESDAY, September 26- Nicole Shiflet's art opening in Baltimore! (info)
FRIDAY, September 28- My art opening in Philadelphia! (info)
SUNDAY, September 30- CRAFTY BASTARDS in Washington, DC!!! (info)
After having an absolute BLAST in the city of deep-dish pizza and 1920's gangsters last week, our elated spirits were crushed with some rather tragic news this morning. American Apparel has discontinued the olive green dress used to print our customer favorite, the "Botany Dress." We are heartbroken! We have only a few left, in small and XL. Get yours before it becomes a collector's item! Already own one? Store it in cling wrap and sell it on ebay in 20 years when we're f-a-m-o-u-s!!!!!!!! Farewell Olive, we will sincerely miss your lively hue.
Charm City Craft Mafia is striking again, Robin Hood style. We've lined up not one, but TWO great speakers (a lawyer and an accountant) for a day of FREE business advice for small business owners, or potential business starters! Want to hear about registering your business name? Doing your taxes? Sounding official? Have a million questions before anyone starts talking? GREAT!
The event will be October 20 at the MADE IN METAL studios on Clipper Mill Road in Baltimore. Free lunch provided and business cards, etc are encouraged for networking! It's all free, but Pre-Registration is a must, so go HERE to sign up, then get ready to stick it to Uncle Sam (the correct and legal way)!
Who says cussing is strictly a trashy sport? Do you know about Locher's? You should! Swiss-born Nicole Locher started her own apparel company in 2001 and finds inspiration from Grandma's hankercheifs and flea market treasure. Look at this beautiful stitchwork and cool lettering. Look at the glamorous model! Plus, we agree with this particular one. We DO need some #&$#)(*#))(**#**$&$&*#(@!!)!*@#&$%=ing coffee!
If you haven't done it already, be sure to apply to the Charm City Craft Mafia's HOLIDAY HEAP Our second craft show happening here in Baltimore, December 1. Not sure if it's possible to beat out the crowds from Pile Of Craft, but we are sure going to try! Applications are due in October.
