This weekend, with or without tropical storm whatsername, we will be selling our printed-in-Baltimore line right here in Baltimore. Honfest will once again take over the avenue (36th Street) in Hampden Saturday and Sunday and we'll be there with our cat-eye sunglasses, even if it's pouring rain. It's all I've got for a costume, so... there. The festival, "celebrating" (or patronizing? I'm never positive) the long-time blue collar housewife demographic of the neighborhood of Hampden for their quirky fashion sense (see: Hairspray), features live music, crafts, sidewalk sales, fried food, beer, entertainment, etc... There's no escaping that Baltimore is weird, flawed and ridiculous. In fact, most go so far as to exploit it! Embracing quirkiness seems better than denying, and far more fun and colorful... so we're in. There will be clothing. there will be fun. there will be a sale bin. Plus, you can stop into the new Double Dutch Boutique -Now open at 1021 W. 36th St next to the food market!
